its time for another birthday entry!
this time, we're celebrating jiafang's birthday!
i first met jiafang back when i was still studying in singapore poly. we were in the same class for the whole 3 years and we've been great friends ever since.
knowing jiafang for like 7 years already, i know that she's not the type who'd like to celebrate her birthday with a rah rah party at zouk. she's rather much prefer a simple dinner with her close friends just talking about random stuff. so we did just that!
met up at jalan kayu for dinner at this place called Mad Jack since its was near our area. the food's quite good actually and the prices were very reasonable. i ate at the Mad Jack at simpang bedok before back in my NS days, since my camp was near there, and i really loved their burgers.
after dinner we made our way to the playground near sheryl's place for the birthday suprise.
when we reached the playground, we blindfolded her with newspapers and made her put on the earphones to her ipod and blasted the music loud so she couldnt see or hear what we were about to set up!
we just love to blindfold jiafang!!! i remembered for one of jiafang's birthdays, we blindfolded and made her walk around the esplanade roof top garden. then we suprised her with a full picnic spread, with the whole basket and mat and all, and we had a picnic under the stars. this time around, it was another blindfold suprise!
while jiafang was sitting in the corner unaware of what was happening. sheryl was setting up the laterns for the backdrop. cecilia made sure that jiafang wasnt peeping!
and i prepared her birthday cupcakes!
check out the yummy raspberry vanilla cupcakes that i made that afternoon for jiafang! i even added the rainbow sprinkles to make it more festive!!
alright! the laterns were all set!
time to bring jiafang in and unveil the surprise!
TADAH!!!
making her birthday wish!
we gave her some cool products from bodyshop and faceshop for her presents!
group photo time!!
we chatted, played with the lanterns and enjoyed the homemade cupcakes! it was in my opinion a wonderful evening. it is the small stuff like this that your friends do to show you how much you mean in their lives.
we hanged around till it was kinda late and decided to call it a night. it was time to take down the lanterns.... ALI JOE's style!
RAHHHH!!!
gone within seconds.
that's all folks.
xoxo
