groupthink is the cancer to individuality. grouthink happens when everybody in a group thinks similarly and opposes anything else that isnt seen as right by the group. lets say a person in a group has a different perception of something, groupthink makes him feel that he is wrong, therefore having to change his way to follow and be part of his group.
lets use an example.
let's say everybody think's Paris Hilton can't sing and her making an album would be a disaster. thus the whole group thinks that Paris Hilton's album sucks. groupthink comes in when members in the group straight away condemns the album saying it's the worst album ever made, without actually even listening to it first.
so what's my point?
my point is i've uploaded this new music video for my blog on the right and its by paris hilton and i think its awesome. and even if you think it sucks, i shall not succumb to your ideology because that my friend, is groupthink.
