Singapore Gave A Dam!

sometimes going to orchard road all the time gets boring and the last thing you want to do is go out shopping. seriously, i feel like i'm running out of things to do on our little red dot. so i was reading papers one day and i chanced i upon this article regarding Singapore's biggest damn dam.

The Marina Barage

i have this little thing in me where i like to explore new or interesting places and just take fotos of the area while enjoying a scenic walk. i've found that by doing such things, its kinda therapeutic. i mean who doesn't like taking breezy walks at nice locales on Saturday afternoons.

so here's the results of my wonderful afternoon. just have to warn you first, that i'm not a trained photographer, so please don't expect gorgeous pictures.

all the grass patch that you see from the above photos are actually the rooftop of Marina Barrage. there were people flying kites and having picnics at the rooftop. and the view is just too lovely. you can see the Singapore flyer very clearly and all those CBD buildings make such a nice backdrop for a picnic.

this is the Solar Park at the rooftop where they use all the solar panels to power the Barrage.

this is like bridge that controls waterflow. notice that the water on both side of the bridge is like different color. this is due to the depth of the water or something. *flicks hair*

i know my explanations are really retarded. but like i dont study engineering or whatever subject that teaches you how to operate this dam. i do however am taking a marketing degree. so i could probably sell you the dam or do intensive advertising and promotions for it. (:

anyway, guess what i saw when i looked up in the sky?!

it was a cloud in the shape of a heart. well, it doesnt really look like a cloud that much in the picture cause i totally forgot to take a foto of it until like 10seconds of just standing there admiring it. so the wind kinda deformed it by the time i snapped a picture. nevertheless, still nice!

alright, thats it for today's entry. wow, this is like my first pictorial blog entry that doesnt have a photo of me in it. HAHAHA!! shocking right?!

well, the Marina Barrage is a litle inaccessible unless you drive but still, do try and check it out. its a nice place for a walk on windy afternoon.
